Jane Austen has written a gentle, romantic, and humorous novel that pokes fun at the social mores of her day.


Pride and Prejudice is set in England. Much of the action takes place in and around the fictional town of Meryton, in Hertfordshire, near London. Action also takes place in Derbyshire, London, and Brighton.

Point of view

The novel is written in third person, from the perspective of an omniscient narrator.
