How does Bromely defy social expectations

The movie shows a group of people from the LGBTQ community coming together to help those who are struggling, to reach further outside their community and in that way, as shown in the movie, remove prejudices towards them. People from the small town in Wales are apprehensive of them at first, but as the members of the LGSM movement show and teach them about who they are, most are shown to have their prejudice and hatred stemming from ignorance. The LGSM movement outstretched their hand first which resulted in the overcoming of the prejudice and people coming together for a greater cause.
