    The narrator seems to observe the adult world from the point of view of a child. This is done to comedic effect, as there is a certain degree of child logic (such as Nana being the nanny) which is treated as completely legitimate. There is also a certain amount of reverence for the activities of adults - Mr. Darling goes off to the bank, but his job is very much a mystery to the children.
