Adam and Eve are portrayed as God's most perfect creations. They are, however, not without gullibility and thus can be tempted. Eve, because she is created from Adam's rib, serves him and is also weaker than Adam. This weakness makes her the perfect target for Satan and thus he can make her eat of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam, then, because he loves Eve, gives in to what she asks of him, so they both disobey God's commands in contrast to the way they were originally created.
