Our Town

Why is there no interpersonal conflict in this story?

Wilder is not interested in directing us to observe in-depth personal stories so what is he directing us to observe?

I think we are directed to observe the transience of human life more than interpersonal conflicts. We observe characters over the rapid passage of time. It is time that we are all at the mercy of regardless of who we are.
