Act 3

How is the tone of Act III different from the first two acts? What most  contributes to the development of the tone?

The tone in the third act reflects the inevitability of death. The live characters are emotional..... over the top from what we've seen in the previous acts, and the dead themselves are disinterested. The sorrow that accompanies Emily's death takes center stage, and while the dying lament over wasted time, the living do little to cherish it.
