Othello

How does Lodovico respond to Othello after he “strikes" Desdemona?

This happen in act 4 scene 1

Lodovico is shocked. He says that Othello is being too rough and that nobody in Venice will believe Othello could do such a thing. He demands that Othello apologize to Desdemona,

"My lord, this would not be believed in Venice, Though I should swear I saw ’t. 'Tis very much. Make her amends, she weeps."
