No, it's murder. Othello is a victim of his own psyche where his massive sense of masculinity hangs by a thread. He murders Desdemona because the mere suggestion of being a cuckold is unthinkable to him. He is a creature of obsession and possession. When what he obsesses about ceases to be under his control, Othello short circuits ( note his Epilepsy becomes a metaphor for his disposition).
