Why does Desdemona stay? Why does Desdemona tolerate Othello’s jealousy?

Desdemona has little choice but to stay. Her father has all but disowned her for marrying Othello. She has also publicly stated her undying loyalty to Othello. Desdemona represents innocent suffering: she will die by her husband's hand rather than break her fidelity to him. This of course is ironic considering Othello believes she is cheating on him.
