Desdemona is searching for a flaw in her own character to justify Othello mistreating her in this way. This shows Desdemona's complete loyalty to Othello, even in the face of his paranoia-fueled rants. Desdemona represents innocent suffering of a woman bound by fidelity even when falsely accused of infidelity.
