can some please answer- (1) How does Shukhov use his wits to secure more food at lunch? (2) Why doesn’t Shukhov automatically get an extra bowl of food? (3) What important transformation is Captain Buinovsky undergoing? Why is it so important?

Shukhov is the first one there, and he collects the food for the rest of his squad...... finishing most of it before the squad arrives.
