One Amazing Thing Irony

One Amazing Thing Irony

The absurdity of Lily’s brother

Lily lives in her brother's shadow, and she looks up to him in whatever she does. Lily's brother does cancer research at the university, and he is strict because he reminds her of the significance of working hard. Lily starts to teach herself to play the flute, and she becomes an expert because she wins concerts and gets rewarded awesomely. Paradoxically, she later discovers that her brother fails in her university exams despite being strict with her and reminding her that he is the smartest in the family.

The irony of Tariq

Tariq is depicted as a critic who assumes that he knows everything. For instance, he strongly criticizes the American government and the culture of Americans. Tariq believes that his Muslim religion is perfect because that is what radicals teach him to observe. While in the basement, he criticizes Cameron's authority to lead the group. Ironically, he discovers that Cameron is an expert in life-saving skills, and he has to listen to him if he wants to see him the next day.

Malathi’s bravery

Malathi celebrated her courage when she intentionally applied a chemical on her employer's head that made her hair fall completely. Malathi took this inhumane decision after discovering that the rich woman was mistreating her servant. As a result, Malarthi was sent to America to work at the Indian consulate. The irony in this context is that Malathi is sent from India, where she worked in a salon, to come to America and work at the prestigious Indian Consulate.
