Once upon a time

Wise Old Witch is the husband's mother. She first warns the husband not to take on anyone off the street. She also pays for the extra bricks as a Christmas present to her son and his wife, as well as a spaceman outfit and book of fairy tales for the little boy. She is called a witch to position her as the "evil" one in the story.
