is "on the road" an adventure story?

Well, I guess the groups cross country adventures, and their foray into drugs, sex, and a carefree world would be considered an adventure. I myself see it as the desire to commit long, pleasurable suicide, but hey........... they are a testament to their generation. It was quite a ride!
