Objective:
Students will familiarize themselves with the paintings in the book to deeper their insights into the characters and themes of the novel.

Structure:
For this activity, have your students break up into small groups and research important paintings brought up in the book. Ask them to discuss what each painting represents within the context of the novel and what different character’s affinity for different paintings reveals about them. Ask them to select a quote about each painting from the novel as a starting point for their discussions....
