Coffee
Deeley prepares piping hot coffee with Anna. Ironically, when Kate drinks it it is cold and she doesn't want it.
Dead
Pinter makes it seem that Kate is possibly the one who has passed away. Ironically, it is Anna who is no longer living.
Memory
Deeley recalls a night where he looked up Anna's skirt as being quite delightful for him. He enjoyed it very much as he believed she was allowing him to do so. Ironically, Anna recalls the night as a moment of her paying for the sin of stealing from Kate by having a strange man stare up her dress. And, she remembers it as a very cold experience.
Casserole
Deeley asks if Anna's husband is a vegetarian as he has prepared a casserole with meat. Ironically, Anna's husband is in Sicily and won't be coming.
Death
Kate describes finding Anna in one of the bed's at Kate's home. Her face is covered with dirt; ironically, Kate is quite happy to know that though Anna is dead and filthy she is covered with a clean sheet.
