Why does George make the final decision about Lenny that he does? Explain the last moments together.

George decides to kill Lennie out of love. If the other men had gotten a hold of Lennie it would have been an ugly scene of violence and suffering. George didn't want Lennie to suffer....... so he took care of it himself quickly and easily. Some might even say humanely (think back to Candy's dog)."
