what keeps happening to the mice that lennie pets, and what does this tell you about him ?

The mouse that Lennie pets is dead. Lennie is too strong and crushes the mouse. Lennie does not comprehend his own strength or really know how to control himself when petting soft things. This foreshadows much more grave circumstances later in the novel.
