I'm not to sure who you mean by "whit". I know Candy is there and later Slim. In any case, George tells Lennie to stay away from Curly's wife. George knows the trouble she can cause. Lennie isn't sophisticated enough to handle the games she can play. Lennie had got in trouble with the same sort of thing in their last town (I think it was Weed).
