knowing lennies condition, is lennie responsible for killing curleys wife ?

Yes and no. I realize it's confusing but that is the answer. Lennie is not responsible because he had no intent to kill. He, however, still killed her. I don't think the law would have considered his mental capabilities so much at the time though.
