How might Steinbeck’s experiences in writing this article have influenced his creation of characters and plot events in Of Mice and Men? Discuss at least three similarities–between this article and Of Mice and Men–in your answer.

The article mentioned is the Harvest Gypsies also by John Steinbeck. This assignment is for school but I don't know how to link the two. And I have noticed more differences than similarities, please help.
