Of Mice and Men

How did Crooks receive Lennie?

Why didn’t crooks sleep in the bunkhouse? How did Lennie react to crooks?

Initially Crooks is very defensive of his small space near the stables. He is not allowed around the other men because he is black. He defends the only space he has. Crooks, however, relents when Lennie begins talking. Crooks is extremely lonely and asks Lennie to sit down.
