Of Mice and Men

A little stocky man stood in the open doorway. He wore bluejean trousers, a flannel shirt, a black, unbuttoned vest and a black coat.

In Of Mice and Men, steinbeck uses descriptive writing to paint pictures in the minds of his readers. Read each passage below and underline the descriptive words. Then rewrite the passage, replacing the words you underlined with others that change the meaning.

Sorry, we don't do writing assignments for students. I can help you out with the descriptive words, but you will have to formulate the new passage.

"blue jean trousers" ~ you might want to dress him up, example; pinstripe suit

flannel

black, unbuttoned vest

black coat
