Oedipus Rex

In the first scene, Oedipus is a strong, healthy leader, who is looked to for protection and is dedicated to his people. We can infer that he sees himself as invincible, and that he is filled with pride.

In the last scene, we see a man who is broken.... weak, and only concerned for the welfare of his daughters.
