Why do you think the author called his experience suffered in Auschwitz Night?

The period Wiesel writes about is the darkest of his life..... the darkest period of many lives, and one of the darkest periods in history. He suffers loss of faith, brutalization, and what I'm sure were horrors that remain untold. For him, there was no light.... no hope..... everything was dark like night.
