How is the word "Night" symbolic for Elie Wiesel's experience? Explain.

Consider the mood and tone of this story. Yes, it is very dark hence the title. I think Night becomes an extension of everything. Human nature, both Jew and gentile, is dark. The days in the camp are dark emotionally as well as physically, the smoke from the fires of burning flesh makes things dark.
