Describe a dilemma that Eli's family faced. Describe how they faced it.

In Chapter One, Eli's family is moved into the ghetto. They've been warned about the atrocities, and they're frightened. They've even had a former servant offer to help them escape the city and hide them. None-the-less, at this point in Eliezer's story, the family makes the decision to stay and face their future together...... as a family. Sadly, they'll soon be parted and forced to suffer different fates.
