Are bigger's actions believably motivated? why or why not?

Bigger has suffered a life of inequality and estrangement. He is a young poor black male who has no chance at mobility or acceptance of white society. Although his actions are unspeakably heinous, the reader can process them through the social context of the time and Bigger's sense of futility.
