Why does Isabel decide to visit the Wapadsberg Pass?

Isabel visits Wapadsberg Pass in order to pay her respects to Mr. M, as this was the place that he first realized that he wanted to become a teacher. While there, Isabel also makes the promise to dedicate her life to serving others... to continue what Mr. M started.
