My Antonia

What is significant about this quote from Jim Burden in Book IV?

“ . . . I think of you more often than of anyone else in this part of the world. I’d have liked to have you for a

sweetheart, or a wife, or my mother or my sister – anything that a woman can be for a man.”

I think this just reflects Jim's affection for Antonia. She made an impression on him as a boy and a man. She really touched Jim's spirit.
