why does Hero say it useless to mention these defects of character to Beatrice

Hero and Ursula have set Beatrice up to eavesdrop on their conversation. The praise Benedick and lament Beatrice's self- absorbed disposition. Hero says that Beatrice will never accept criticism about her character because she is too proud and headstrong.
