Much Ado About Nothing

Don Pedro seems to lightheartedly offer himself to Beatrice as a husband. To what does she compare him and what answer does she give him? What does this have to do with her decision?

Beatrice remarks that everyone is getting married and leaving home except she herself. I actually thought that Don Pedro is rather serious underneath his jovality. Still, Beatrice lets him down gently telling him he is "too costly to wear every day" (Act 2 sc 1).
