Why didn't Mr. Popper do advertisements for some companies?

Mr. Popper only did advertisements for companies that benefited his penguins. Thus, companies like Owens' Oceanic Shrimp, which provided the penguins with free food received testimonials. Other companies requested testimonials, but because the penguins wouldn't eat spinach or oats, Mr. Popper had to refuse.
