Ruthanne is Hiram's Grampa’s housekeeper. Emmett “Bobo” Till is her cousin, and she asks him to carry the bags to be nice, and as the housekeeper, she is doing job in picking Hiram up. Emmett sees himself as Hiram's equal and believes that someone should have carried his luggage.
