Michael Vey

The protagonist of the series, Michael is a fifteen-year-old with electric powers: he can shock people, absorb electricity, and generally manipulate electric energy. He has a strong moral compass and sense of justice, and he's doing his best to stop Dr. Hatch and the Elgen from taking over the world.

Taylor

Michael's girlfriend and another electric teenager. She has the ability to shock people's minds and cause short-term memory loss, and she can read minds while in physical contact with her target. She is kind and understanding, and she functions as a comforter in the Electroclan when others go through difficulty.

Ostin

Michael's best friend and resident genius with an IQ of 155. He is brilliant, socially awkward, and remembers facts that help the Electroclan as they form plans. In the course of the last few books, he has developed a relationship with McKenna.

Dr. Hatch

Dr. Jim Hatch, the main antagonist of the series, is a power-hungry madman who controls several electric children and plans to use them to take over the world and remake it in his image. In this installment, he becomes ruler of Tuvalu and renames the nation "the Hatch Islands."

Scott

A resistance member and pilot who transports the Electroclan back to America, across the Mexican border, and back to the ranch. His loyalty is strong, and he respects the members of the Electroclan while still obeying orders from his superiors.

Gervaso

Introduced in the last book, Gervaso is a heavily decorated American soldier who received the Distinguished Service Cross and is loyal to the Resistance. He finds the Electroclan and relays the good news that everyone is still alive, and he guides them back to Christmas Ranch to reunite with the Resistance.

Quentin

An electric teenager who can create electromagnetic pulses to take out electronics. Dr. Hatch puts him in charge of the Hatch Islands, as well as of the other Glows, but at the end, Hatch discovers his treachery in freeing Welch and sentences him to death. His loyalty has shifted; no longer Hatch's student, he will soon turn against his master.
