He asks him to join him on the trip. Bassanio says that Gratiano is too loud and drinks. Gratiano says that he will "put on a sober habit" and Bassanio agrees to go.

Bassanio says to Gratiano to go to Venice with him to save Antonio's life and go to court and Gratiano accept his deal
