Living in a society that is prevailed with anti-Semitism, what would you do to win equality and goodwill of others if you were Shylock or any other Jew?

In the context of that history, there was not much a person like Shylock could do. Anti-Semitism was pretty entrenched into Christian society. Shylock could have tried lending money without interest; then again, why should he? The best Shylock might do is not be so angry and defensive all the time, even if he is treated badly.
