Merchant of Venice

Act 1 Scene 1. Line 119 to 123

Why does Bassanio say "Gratiano speaks an infinite deal of nothing, more than any man in all Venice. His reasons are as two grains ofwheat hid in two bushels of chaff —you shall seek all dayere you find them, and when you have them they are notworth the search." all this about Gratanio

Bassanio points out that Gratiano never gets to the point. One has to really look for the meaning in what hew says and when one finally finds out, it was not worth the effort.
