The Medicine Walk is defined as a journey taken intended to re-establish one's relationship to nature. This relationship, in addition to its requirement of self-reflection, reflect our need to slow down, be aware, and to embrace the medicine that is needed by our soul.... to become whole again. Eldon wishes to make the journey in order to establish peace with the son (Frank) that he abandoned as an infant..... he wants Frank's forgiveness. Frank, on the other hand, is able to utilize the Indigenous skills he was taught by Bunky and embrace his heritage. In the end, forgiveness is given, and Eldon is able to accept his end with peace.
