I can't find the total war in Maus I and II

I'm not sure what you mean by "total war"? Can you elaborate?
I'm doing a paper and my professor wants me to find total war in Maus I and II.
"Total war is a war in which a belligerent engages in the complete mobilization of fully available resources and population."
Well the Nazi inflicted holocaust measures up to your definition. Both books document Vladek's journey through the hell that was the Holocaust. From the ghettos to the camps to the ovens, Vladek's story is about the most heinous of crimes against humanity. True resources were exploited. The tragic part of this was that the Jewish population were eventually "mobilized" for genocide. Hitler's final solution had nothing to do with exploiting the population resource rather than destroying it.
