In your opinion is Macbeth wise to put his faith in what he learns from the Witches?

I believe Macbeth was unwise to "act" upon the witches' words. As apparitions of darkness, their intent is to make Macbeth a puppet. If their prophecies were true, Macbeth wouldn't have had to anything....... and yet he acts to make the prophecies come true.
