Lady Macbeth was initially the aggressive force behind the couple. She talked a tough talk and seemed more ruthless than her husband. In the end L. Macbeth is left in madness born out of her own guilt and isolation. Her once bold talk has turned to regretful and anxiety filled reflections of what has happened. She ends her role in the play by taking her own life.
