Lord of the Flies

Why did golding choose a choir as jack's group?

I couldnt find this in the book. If you could also leave the page number that would be great.

This is never explained in the book. I think that an angelic choir is used as a juxtaposition and irony to Jack's cruel nature. Jack is all about violence and domination where as a choir represents peace and uplifting feelings.
