Jack is a selfish individual, who believes himself entitled to be in complete control. Initially, he expresses support for the rules. Over time, however, he begins to undermine Ralph's authority. Jack began to criticize Piggy and the littluns, disregarded the symbolism of the conch, and disagreed with Ralph's insistence that the signal fire was their priority. He begins to rely on physical threats and his prowess as a hunter to garner support among the boys...... he even encourages play and relaxation.
