What do the boys look like as they hile along the shore?

Ralph, by now, is quite dirty. He wishes that he could take a bath and cut his hair. Golding never really tells us how long they have been on this island but this scene gives us a rough idea. Ralph looks around at the other filthy boys and realizes that looking filthy has become the norm.
