After simons death only ralph piggy and samneric are left in the roriginal tribe

Simon's brutal death parallels Jack's assumption of complete authority. Everyone is afraid of Jack, and he rules with fear. A number of the boys don't even realize that Simon was killed.... they still believe in the evil of the beast, and also believe the beast has the power to take on different forms.
