All three of these of these boys were working for some semblance of civility and order. Really you had three representations of greater constructive society. Ralph was responsible leadership, Simon was wisdom and religion and Piggy was knowledge. THe boys really didn't care fore these qualities because they took work and responsibility. They would rather gravitate towards "fun" and chaos then personal responsibility.
