Ideas for a Research Paper

I have a five page research paper about this novel due in November, and I can't figure out what to write about. The paper is a large part of my final grade, so it's extremely important.

Here are a few ideas I've had, but I think it'd be extremely difficult to get five pages on them.

Religious allegory

Symbolism of characters as forms of government

Symbolism of the conch

Irony (always a winner)

Simon

Ralph

Any better suggestions?

By the way, it's for a college English class.

Parallels between characters/events and world political people/events is just what I needed!

I've read way more Vietnam books than WWII (I'm a Vietnam War buff), but if I reread the novel with WWII in mind, this will be so amazingly simple!
