how does piggy show intellectual daring

I don't think that Piggy's character ever shows intellectual daring. Piggy isn't frightened to show or use his intelligence. He isn't leadership material, but he offers his skills at organization and intelligent mind for the benefit of the group and supplies Ralph with worthy advice.
