How do Ralph and Jack answer the question about the beast?

Ralph tries his best to assure the boys that you only get beasts in "countries like Africa and India" (yes he says countries not continents). Jack adds that he doesn't believe in beasts but if there is one, he will kill it. Here Jack uses manipulation to make himself look both rational and strong.
